Update: Stone Turtle, by Tiny Turtle, is back in its original hiding spot.

Avoiding the Parking Fee: A sign in the main parking area says, "Parking Pass required 8 AM to 6 PM." Simply do the box after 6 PM! It can also be done from the Thanksgiving Forest Portal (Chelmsford, free), and you can find 1 or more other boxes on the way here/back (Pink Pig, Blue Cow, Forbidden Forest, Notice, etc.).

The Stone Turtle Letterbox is brought to you by Eyze on the Prize (stamp and box); and Tiny Turtle & Morgun (placement).

Driving Directions:
Great Brook Farm State Park, Carlisle, MA. From main parking area on North Road, go ~1/2 mile east on North Road to two small dirt parking lots on the right. From April 1 to November 30, a parking ticket is needed. Stop at the main parking area and get the ticket and then drive down the road to the other parking areas. The fee is $2. The box should take less than 30 minutes to do. The trails are CLOSED to walkers during ski season (Dec. 15-Mar. 15).

Thanksgiving Forest Parking (Chelmsford, free) Rt 4 to Wildes to Janet to Dead End. Walk south along the water into GBFSP & on to cabin & millpond (E side stream easier).

Stone Turtle Letterbox Clues

Cross North Road and take the Woodchuck Trail. Soon you will cross over a bridge. Take your first left and walk to the millpond. Walk past the haunted cabin and continue counterclockwise around the millpond.

You will cross over the spillway. Spillways were used to route flood water around the mill.

Next you will cross over the raceway. To your left you can see the remains of the mechanism used to regulate the water to the waterwheel. To your right, you can see the foundations of the mill.

Continue down the path and pass a fireplace. At the crest of the knoll, you will see the stone turtle coming ashore.

Walk to the Stone Turtle's head. When you are facing its snout, there will be 3 rocks in a row to your right. Behind the middle rock are 2 low rocks. Gently lift the smaller rock to find your prize. Please rehide carefully.
