This is a series of two boxes we planted with our nieces who were visiting from Maine. They are in the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. The entrance is behind the Parkville City Hall building which is on Hwy. 9 just north of downtown Parkville. The actual address is 1201 East St. Park in the lower lot and the entrance to the sanctuary is off to the right.

Box #1 (Delaney's Letterbox)

When you walk into the sanctuary you will see a sign for Old Kate Trail pointing both to the left and straight. Go straight and you will see another sign for Bluebird Trail. Turn left onto Bluebird Trail and follow it for a little more than 1/10th of a mile. To the left there is some steps going up to an old root cellar. It is well marked. Up the steps and to the right of the root cellar there is an overhanging rock. The letterbox is under that rock. It is hidden behind some smaller rocks. Please make sure to hide it well!

Box #2 (Hannah's Letterbox) - NEW CLUES AND A NEW LOCATION 7/9/06!

Continue to follow Bluebird Trail, it will run into Old Kate Trail. Take a left onto Old Kate Trail. Follow it for about 1/4th of a mile. You will come to a waterfall. There is a trail to the right after you cross a bridge that leads to a bench by the waterfall (it is marked). To the left as you walk towards the bench is a trail that leads up the hill along the stream. Follow it up until you come to a place where the trail crosses the stream. There is currently a wooden plank across it. Stop on the near side of the stream and look to your right. There are some rocks that can be used to cross the stream, as you cross over the rocks there are 3 flat rocks in a row on the other side. Under the third flat rock just to the right of the big tree that splits low to the ground is Hannah's new letterbox!

You can follow Old Kate Trail back to the entrace. Watch for deer and beaver. Have fun!!!!
