Welcome to Manzanita, Oregon, and the Child's Play Letterbox! It's a nice walk from town, with a little Manzanita history thrown in, or you can drive most of the way. Stollers will not work for the last little bit, which is a faint trail.

Come on down Laneda, and remember that Manzanita was touted as "Carmel-by-the-sea in Oregon" by early real-estate agents. Perhaps you should go in the direction of that lovely town for a while. As you proceed, consider the possibility of buried Treasure from a ship wrecked at sea, which is rumored to exist somewhere near Neahkahnie. Or perhaps the only real treasure was the big chunks of Beeswax found on the shore here, perhaps over 300 years old. When you reach Pacific, turn your back on that ocean. It's Play on the left, but you want to play on the right. First, try going up and down with a friend. Then try going back and forth instead. When you've had enough, but before you get up, extend your right arm and see the end of the chain. Don't allow yourself to be fenced in - step outside and put your back to it. Look at about 1:00 for a large Holy Tree, leaning away from you. Knock on the back door, and find what you seek in the basement.
