Lovers Leap State Park, New MIlford, Ct.

This is a pretty easy Letterbox approximatley 1/2 mile up slight incline. Terrain is slightly rugged, as trees can be down and the ground is soil and rocks, but the path is wide.

This letterbox is at Lover's Leap State Park in New Milford, Ct. There is a parking area on Still River Drive. Park here and cross over the refurbished foot bridge. At the end of the bridge, go to the right, go through the gate and take the Main Trail and follow to the top. The river will be to your right. At the top you can go straight and admire the view. Come back to the main trail and starting at the boulder wall, count 14 of those big boys to the left. At #14, turn with the boulder and water to your back and walk off the trail approximatley 10 steps.
Start walking up the hill about 45 degrees to the right between the trees. (While doing maintainence on the box on 3/30/08, there was a smaill tree trunk over the path to the box.) Look up and you'll see a rock ledge.
Hiding in a crevace protected by a trio of tree roots, you'll find a box hiding amongst the rocks.
If the climb is too much for you, you can find this box off another trail, but you'll have to figure that out yourself.
Have fun!
(a new book has been set in place of #1 book. (04/2008) Have fun!)
box checked 4/15/2009 all is well!
