Rutger's Gardens

This trio of letterboxes is located at Rutger's Gardens, in New Brunswick, NJ. The first box is located off the back parking lot, in Helyar's Woods. The second is located in the gardens themselves. The stamps fit together to form one image. The third is an independent image. For directions and info, visit the official RU Gardens site.

Helyar's Woods box:

Answer the following Jerseyana trivia, and the final answer will be your starting point!

A. What is the size, in square miles, of Middlesex County, NJ?

B. In the very first organized game of baseball, what was the score of the winning team?

C. In what year was NJ settled by the Dutch?

D. What is the height, in feet, of Cape May lighthouse?

E. How long, in miles, is the NJ Turnpike?

F. How high is the highest point in NJ (feet)?

G. How high is Great Falls in Patterson (feet)?

H. How many reservoirs are in NJ?

I. Which NJ State Constitution right forbids imprisonment for debt?

D * B - F - C + E - A + G / H - I Find this number in the woods.

Head in three paces. Now count the "rose", first 26, then 6. It is on the southern side at the base.

Rutger's Gardens box:

Instead of numbers, letters are the clue to this box, hidden on the grounds of the myriad of gardens.

The name of the restuarant that Liberace worked in for $50.00/week, in West Orange. This is two words. Reverse the order and take the first letter of each word and you have figured out your entire clue.

Bamboo Grove box:

Make your way to the Bamboo Grove, in the SW corner of the gardens. Find the remains of the bridge. Five paces upstream is a large tree. From there, 16 paces at 40 degrees lies the box, hidden under some bark and a rock.
