This letterbox can be found in the Cabin John Regional Park. Enter the park on Westlake Drive at the entrance to the ice rink and ball fields. Park in the first parking lot and walk down the road towards fields 5 and 6. Turn right onto the paved service road (auhorized vehicles only)that goes behind the ball field and tennis courts. After you pass the first light post on the left, you will see a thin V-tree ahead on the left near the road. Go to the tree and turn left on the narrow deerpath there. Follow the path until it meets another path, cross over this path, 9 more paces you will cross over the gravel path. Continue on the dirt path (you will see the fence for the ball field on the left) another 70 paces until you come to a large V-tree on the left side, several steps off the path. This is where you will find the deer in the park. It hides under sticks on the right side of the tree.
This is a very busy park so be discreet. Rehide the box carefully. If the box is missing or damaged please notify the placer. This box was missing in spring 2012 but a new box has replaced it. Whoever returned my deer stamp to the site, thank you.
