This letterbox is placed on historic land previously owned by the flourishing Shaker community. Eventually the Shakers went into a decline and the property was sold to the Brothers of Christian Instruction, who own it today.
In fall, a great place to pick apples, in spring and summer bring some day old bread to feed the ducks. Take some time to explore the bakery and if it interests you visit the Shaker Cemetery.
follow 202 east
right on Shaker Hill Rd.
See pond on left, park.
on foot, follow road north to stone "gate"
see shortest "first" stone to left and look behind.
