***I checked on this box 5-31-2010 and it was alive on healthy***

Directions:
On Highway 69 in the city of Rusk, there is only one traffic light. Going south on Highway 69 at the traffic light, turn right onto Highway 84 to downtown Rusk. At the first stop sign, take a right. At the next stop sign take a left. This is the Cherokee County courthouse square. At this point you will be on Main Street. Stay on Main Street for approximately 0.4 miles until you see a green sign on the left side of the road that says "Cherokee County Precinct 1." There will be red building next to a house with a large 'Texas' outlined in stones in the front yard. In front of the red building is a side road that you will need to take and right past the red building is a sign for Butler Park and a historical marker for Rusk College. Be sure and read the historical marker. I recently saw a picture of the old Rusk College and it was truly beautiful.

Clues:
1. There are a lot of stairs at this site. To begin your search, go to the top of the second set of stairs. At this location you will see a picnic table. Sit on the left side, facing the steps that lead up. Look around until you see a lone large rock by a skinny tree.

2. Behind the rock you sill see a stone wall. Go to the end of this wall to the right facing up the stairs.

3. With your back to the end of the rock wall, walk 5 steps (a step is about 3 feet to me) to a large single rock. Look to your left ad you will see a large tree about 15 steps. The letterbox is located behind this tree under sticks and forest debris.

Please look out for snakes and poison ivy. Please recover the box well. Contact me and let me know the condition of the box. ENJOY!!!
