Of course I’d rather be paddling down a river in my canoe than paying bills, mowing the lawn, stuck in traffic or about any other daily activity I can think of! In fact, I’d rather be paddling than doing about anything I can think of with the possible exception of letterboxing, or eating a really good lemon meringue pie, or… well, you get the picture. This letterbox is paying homage to one of my favorite activities – paddling!

Clues:
To find this letterbox, find your way to Murrell Park on the north side of Lake Grapevine. (Mapblast 4500 Murrell Park Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75022) After entering Murrell Park at the very south end of Simmons Rd (300 feet before being IN Lake Grapevine), you will take a sharp right turn and drive by a few picnic pavilions on your left. Shortly the road will make another sharp right turn, and you will see a sign on your right for Fishing Trail #2. Turn left onto the gravel road and head to the parking lot at the end. Just in front of you, you will see an opening in the pipe rail fencing and a small path. Park and follow that path. Go to the last cedar tree on the right side of the path, just before falling off the rocks into the water, and walk around to the backside (away from the path) and look close to the trunk under the lower branches for the letterbox.

Enjoy the view; you will probably see folks in kayaks and canoes paddling around the lake! Wave… maybe one of them is ME!
