This box was planted in honor of Big Brother's 4th birthday. It's about as toddler friendly as you can get and is even stroller friendly.
Find the Denison-Pequotsepos Nature Center on Pequotsepos Rd. in Mystic. There is an admission fee; currently it is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
Head out on the trails towards the large pond. Go left around the pond and find the second boardwalk. Take this boardwalk and watch for the second right turn. After you've turned right for the second time, find the third boardwalk section. Bob's Birthday Box is under the boardwalk on the left, just past the middle support. The boardwalk will take you back to the pond trail. (Big Brother's cousin used to call it a "shortcut" when he was younger.)
Make sure you visit the indoor museum. It's small but interactive and has both stuffed and live animals. There are several other boxes planted here as well.
