This box has been reported missing! Sorry!

A gorgeous river, The Animas is popular with both fishermen and whitewater enthusiasts. Fishermen love it because the chances of landing a trophy are as good here as anywhere in western Colorado. And come on.. fishing! Those who enjoy the Animas' rapids enjoy its varied opportunities, which include class II through IV. The Upper Animas is a gorgeous, long run with plenty of challenge even for expert boaters, and the Town Run is a perfect stretch for a short afternoon run.
When I planted this box, night was upon us and darkness quickly falling. As I reached the river, two kayakers were still playing in the springtime waters!

Park at the DoubleTree Hotel. Or.. park nearby and walk to it! Or kayak! Or bike! But get to the Doubletree!
Go around the south end of the hotel on the pathway that runs between the hotel and the highway bridge over the river until you stand at the end of the metal handrail on the river walkway.
Turn right and walk a short distance past two street lamps until you stand at a large pile of rocks which lay in front of two trees.. one smooth and one lumpy. Mixed in with the rocks is a large metal grate.
Facing the river, locate the two very large boulders on the right side of the pile nearest the sidewalk.
Walk around the boulders.
A smaller yet still large rock sits two rocks to the right of the grate, in front of the left giant boulder.
Tucked back in and under at the spot where the smaller yet larger rock meets the left giant boulder lies the Animas River Letterbox.

Note:
I placed this box in the dark! If you visit and find that my clues need adjusting, please feel free to alert me!!

Bigger Note:
This is a VERY VISIBLE AND PUBLIC LOCATION!! PLEASE DO NOT BE SEEN RETRIEVING OR REHIDING THE BOX! It's easy to sit in front of the boulders, look at the water, 'take pictures', 'talk on the cell phone', or chat with family while casually grabbing or rehiding the box to fool people on the deck, in the hotel, on the water, on the path or in low flying aircraft into believing that you are doing nothing more than normal things! Acting!
