Ancient Arizonans (Hohokam Indians) pecked hundreds of figures and symbols on the rock faces of the White Tank Mountains. Some may approach 10,000 years old. All have withstood sun, rain, and vandals for 700 or 800 years or more. The microbox is located in the Waterfall Canyon area, where you can see these petroglyphs.

There is a fee of $5 per vehicle. Dogs are welcome.
The box is ¼ mile up the trail. Petroglyph Plaza is ½ mile up the trail. The waterfall is 1 mile up the trail.

DIRECTIONS: From I-17 get off on Olive and go west Tank Mounain Regional Park. On the Hwy. 101 west loop, you can get off on Olive, and go west to the park. Stay on the main road, on past the visitor’s center and turn left into the Waterfall Canyon area. Park at the Waterfall Trailhead.

CLUES: Take the Waterfall trail, and look for the bench dedicated to Mr. LeSage. Sit on this bench (facing the trail) and look to the right. In front of the Ironwood tree is a larger rock among others, that has a piece cut out of it. The box is in this cut-out under smaller rocks. This is a very busy trail, and the Ranger gives tours, so please be very discreet. Rehide it well with rocks.
