Duvall Joins Letterboxing!

This letterbox is in a wooded park of Duvall, WA, about 60 miles east of Seattle. The terrain is park-like, involving a sidewalk and trail and is suitable for all, including the disabled. Walking the short distance to this letterbox location should take you approximately 10 minutes.

Where in Duvall, Washington can you find an old school house and art pavers created by local home schooled students? This location is also a place where “The Big Red Dog” welcomes the old and young at heart.

For this letterboxing site, begin where names and love notes are carved in stone. Walk along these special messages and stop at the end.

At the end, follow the path 106 paces to the east.

Follow the “yellow brick road”. As you walk these 106 paces to the east, look up in the tree and oblige the common courtesy written there. Pick up something to throw away later. Look past that sign to see the tree with two trunks growing out of it. This is where your next turn should be.

From the two-tree’d trunk turn west and walk 18 paces following the board to the location of the hidden letterbox.

Look down in the small stump cavity to find a small plastic baggie with the letterboxing supplies. Remember to replace things as you found them with some leaves on top of the bag to disguise Duvall’s first letterboxing site.

About the stamp at this site;
I choose tall evergreen trees that are whimsically drawn to represent the artistic culture within Duvall. The trees are also a source of stability because of their stately, majestic, and symmetrical form. I hope that both the creative and natural sides of Duvall can remain in harmony for years to come.

About our stamp:
“Love, Peace, and Freedom” are the stones that create a base for our family. The three words written in different fonts illustrate the respect for individuality amongst ideas for which we all should strive.

Love means truly listening to another person’s heart and listening to your own.

Peace is the joy that we find in a community based on understanding and appreciation.

Freedom is the radiance that we can feel living in a world created with love and peace.

Love, Peace, Freedom
