The "Safari Man- On The Highway/ and Interstate" series depicts things one might see as they drive the highways of the U.S. These are targeted mainly for rest stops but might pop up anywhere. This letterbox is titled SPORTY TRAVELERS. Happy traveling!

Clues: Traveling westbound on I-64, approaching Mt. Vernon Illinois at the 86 mile marker, Turn in to the rest stop and park past the main building. Walk to the bridge behind the rest rooms and proceed over it and down the short, lovely, gravel path to the next bridge. Cross this second bridge and from the departure end count 25 steps and stop. There should be a large hardwood tree on your left, at the edge of the pond, and one much further into the woods on your right. The SPORTY TRAVELER is in a letter pouch behind the large tree on the right, under limbs. Please be discrete when retrieving and replacing this pouch since the woods are sparse and you might be viewable from the picnic tables and cars located not far away. When done stamping in, please replace the pouch as you found it and make sure the zippers for the baggies are closed securely. And if you have time, please be so kind as to let me know the condition of the letterbox by contacting the placer at the top of this clue page. Glad to be of service!!, Safari Man.
