Colorado residents know the Douglas County town on I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs, but there is also a city in Jefferson County that uses a ‘castle rock’ on its logo.

In this city, find the corner of Arapahoe and 11th Streets and park in one of the two parking lots nearby. The first lot is parking for a hotel named after the city, and the second lot is parking for an amazing landmark used in the 9th televised race around the world. Walk on the sidewalk between the two lots towards the creek.

Stop and read the four signs describing the history of the city, including the story of the castle rock and railroad. As you are reading the castle rock information on the sign, you can see the towering rock on your left. Reach behind this sign for the letterbox resting on the top of the lower railing.

There are benches near the creek for stamping in. Enjoy the bronze statues along the creek and throughout the city and visit the amazing historical park if you have time. Please rehide the box well, pushing it out of sight after you have stamped in.

The box includes a hand-carved stamp, handmade journal and a reward for the first finder. No pen or inkpad provided, please bring your own. If you have gold ink for stamping-in, it would be very appropriate.
