THIS LETTERBOX IS MISSING- do not attempt to find!

This is a hand-carved stamp placed in memory of my grandparents, on my father's 66th birthday. My grandparents lived on Pratt Island, in Darien, just a mile or so from this site. They were sailors, shell-collectors, gardeners... My grandmother's ashes are here. The letterbox is near a tree which was planted in memory of my grandfather. His ashes are in Long Island Sound.

Finding this box involves a bit of a stretch at the end, better to crawl around the back and reach... :)

From I 95, take EXIT 10- Noroton. If coming from 95 south, go straight through the stop sign, bear leftish and continue straight to the light. Turn LEFT onto Noroton Ave. If coming from 95 north, turn right at the light at the end of the ramp, onto Noroton Ave. Follow Noroton Ave. until you see a light at a T-intersection with the Boston Post Road (US ROUTE 1). TURN RIGHT BEFORE THE LIGHT into the church parking lot. This is Noroton Presbytarian Church: www.norotonchurch.org. You are entering the parking lot from Noroton Ave. to the back of the church building.

Drive over 2 speed bumps and turn right towards the back of the lot. PARK in front of the weeping willow and take a moment to yourself on the bench. It's quiet here. Look and listen for birds around the pond. Relax.

When ready, turn around and walk towards the church, across the lot, to the bushes at the right corner of the building. One is pruned, the other is a flowering tree on the side. From there, continue walking 53 paces further south towards the Post Rd., through pines, to the foot of the cross. Enter the Garden of Rememberance with respect and peace. Follow the walkway to the center of the cross, from there, turn right and walk towards the two hollys. You will see a rock wall near the street side. Locate the place where the bushes meet the right end of the rock wall. What you seek is behind the wall there.

Please stamp in, re-hide well, and record your findings online @ letterboxing.org and atlasquest.com. I welcome any mail regarding your hunt! If you want to continue your drive down to the water, cross the Post Road and turn left at the light (near Hindley School) down Nearwater Lane. Eventually, you'll find my grandparent's old home! Peace and love to you! Funthought
