SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2011
BOX PULLED. (TRAIL CHANGED.) WILL REPLANT WITH NEW CLUES.
We used to come here daily
To walk upon the land.
Back in the good ‘ol days
Before the dogs were banned.
First one dog then another,
Thru pregnancy and toddlerhood, too.
We would walk, dogs would run,
Meet friends old and new.
Then one day it came to be.
No more dogs allowed.
Walkers and joggers are good company.
Apparently canines are a crowd.
We’ve moved on. It’s all OK.
There are other places for dogs to play.
We’ve left this box in memory
Where our puppies did run free.
Our dogs are getting older now.
Many tales abound.
The chewed up floors, the stolen food,
The endless barking sound.
One who has a heart of gold,
He steals the food and loves the boy.
One who chews and barks a lot,
She loves the girl and jumps for joy.
One who’s loud, one who’s sad.
Which one’s good and which one’s bad?
Clues:
1) Street + Yuck
2) Strokin’ + Nemo’s tank mentor
3) A piece of land on which crops or animals are raised
Directions:
Dirt road
“A long, narrow elevation of land” trail
Trail splits – head up towards 90
Hmmm… things get tight around here. Feeling squeezed?
Boulder, rock wall, birch, oak & hemlock -- look around
To box and back is about 1 mile. Your walk could be longer if you keep going (but this trail gets hard to follow). You could always double back to dirt road and keep exploring. It’s pretty special in here. Bring bug stuff and watch for browntails.
