This is an easy letterbox to find, ideal for beginners or those not predisposed to climbing up and down sand dunes. All it requires are a keen pair of eyes, kept open.

The letterbox can be found along the White Lake Pathway extension, which starts behind the parking lot of the White Lake Community Library on White Lake Drive. The trail is especially busy during the summer, so please be discrete.

CLUES:

Find the August 2003 dedication plaque. Look along the trail and see the first of three bridges. Follow the trail until you cross the final bridge. On your left should be a totem of an ugly eagle. From the bridge, keep on following the trail for roughly 200 paces or until the day-glo yellow sign comes into view up ahead. (If you reach the stop sign, you have gone too far).

Look into the woods to your right. You are looking for two dead tree stumps that are both about 7.5 feet tall, and a similar distance apart. Neither is very far from the trail. Leave the trail and stand next to the stump furthest from the trail. Imagine a straight line that goes through both dead tree stumps and follow it roughly 15 paces further into the woods.

On your left, look out for a large dead tree trunk lying across the ground. The letterbox is hidden inside the hollow end of the trunk, covered with a shard of bark.
