Planted by Canton Traveler
This box was assembled by Brownie Troop 6257 from Canton, Connecticut and placed on Memorial Day 2006 (May 29th).
Directions: Traveling west on Route 44, turn right onto Indian Hill Road just before the Hillside Motel. Follow Indian Hill Road (be sure to stay left at first fork), which then turns into Breezy Hill Road. It is about a 2 mile ride off of Route 44. Look for the drive in on the left. It is a small drive in and you could miss it, so go slow. There should be a trail sign high on the tree at the entrance and there is a meadow for parking. This is part of the Canton Land Trust. The link from their website as to the trail map is here:

Walking in to the sign board, you will see an Orange Trail to the left of it. The Orange Trail is a “loop” and it is an easy walk of about 45 minutes. In the beginning you will see ferns on both sides of you, then you will cross a small stream. Keep following the Orange Trail until you see a tree with 3 Orange blazes on it. Go right on the loop and proceed down the trail. On your right hand side you will come upon an interesting rock formation that looks almost like a wall that abuts the trail. Proceed past this rock formation until you come up to the next rock formation on the right hand side that looks like a big heap of rocks. Right in the front part of this heap of rocks you will find a tree limb with a Yellow marker nailed to it that is sticking up out of the rocks. Remove a few of the top rocks and you will find the letter box that Brownie Troop 6257 assembled.
After that, continue on the Orange trail to enjoy the rest of the “loop”.
Please enjoy Canton, Connecticut and all that it has to offer in the way of natural beauty!!
