1.“Over the River and Through the Woods”

Start in the parking lot of the CSUF Arboretum. When you walk inside, Pass over the bridge next to the waterfall. Be sure to grab a map. At the fork, stay to the right hand path. Cross the bridge and enter the woods. Take the path to the right. Follow the path around until you see the Pinus X Attenuradiata on your left. With your back to the tree face the stadium and take 9 steps forward, the box is hiddenin the multi-branched trunk of the tree nestled in pine cones.

2.“Enlightenment” (currently missing 9/2009)

After re-hiding the previous box, continue along the South Eastern path that borders the stadium and Arboretum fence. Go up the stairs and to the right. Continue through the Redwoods, keeping to SE path. Pass the lake on your left and follow along the path until you reach the Ficus Geniculata V. Abnormalis (Dotted Fig). Take the path to the right of the tree passing the Cyads sign. When you reach the Bodhi tree, face away from the Dalai Lama and take a compass sighting and walk forward at 10 degrees until you come to the bench that belongs to Nancy Caudill. Have a seat and enjoy the shade of the Jambolan Tree. Attached to the back bench leg at the ground, you will find what you seek.
(this box is missing - not only is the box gone, the whole bench disappeared!)

3.“ Cactus Garden”

Pass the Ohmbu tree and find the Childrens Garden. From the South East corner, take the path that goes up in a NE direction. At the fork, go left. Pass Douglas and Jane's 50th wedding anniversary bench that is in the shade of the Honey Mesquite Tree. Straight ahead is the bench of Deborah Dorsett. From this bench, take the path to the right and upward. Take the path that curves to the left (north). Here you will find the bench of James G. Stull. The box is hidden in a fake rock behind the bench near the base of the spiny twisty branches of the cactus.

We hope you've enjoyed this brief tour of the Arboretum – take the time to explore some more! This is a wonderful place, changing all the time!

***Enjoy your hunt.
