Description:
This preserve is owned by the Kongscut Land Trust.

Directions:
From Hartford, take route 2 east to exit 7, route 17. Take the first exit, left, onto New London Tpke east. Go 1.7 miles and take a right onto Tall Timbers Rd.
From New London, take route 2 west to exit 10, route 83. Take a left for 0.2 mile to New London Tpke. Take a right and go 2.0 miles to Tall Timbers Rd on the left.
Continue on Tall Timbers Rd to the preserve on the left, between house numbers 486 & 460. The driveway is not suitable for use.

The Clues:
~Enter Whitehouse Nature Preserve via Tall Timbers Road entrance
~Follow the driveway downhill
~Stay on white/blue/white trail straight ahead
~Cross the wooden bridge over a stream
~Go right a short distance to an intersection
~At fork in the trail, take a left, uphill, on the white trail
~Trail continues uphill
~Follow the trail around the side of the hill until you come to an unmarked trail leading downhill on the left
~Turn around and come back 22 steps
~At the top of an incline, look right from the trail
~Look at the tree with a "V" and look between the rocks
~And there you will see our letterbox!
