The Nipmuc River letterbox is the first box left by TJ & Karen. This a short hike, 1.5 miles total. Also one of the most beautiful in the state. The stamp is store bought as we were anxious to get started.

Directions: Take Rt. 96, Round Top Road, in Harrisville (Burrillville) to the Nipmuc River trail head. It is approximately 1.2 miles once you get on Round Top Road. There is a small pull-off parking lot across the street from a large field.

Start your hike into the field, be sure to stay all the way on the right of the field. Soon the trail will become wooded. Start down the wooded trail and you will find a kiosk containing maps. Take a map and begin your hike (the map is not neccesary to find this letter box but it contains great information). When you come to the "R" marker located after marker #12, stand with your compass over the marker at 250 degees. From this point, you should be able to see a fallen tree then a cluster of small trees with a dead stump in the center. There is the prize. There is a first-finders certificate in this box. Good luck! Let us know about your journey.
