Pleasant View

From I-81 take exit 16W. This will send you on Rt. 9 West towards Berkeley Springs. (The box will be approximately half way between Hedgesville and Berkeley Springs). You will pass two schools on your left. The first is named for an Indian weapon. After passing the "woods" you will pass a school with a pleasant view. Keep on running down the road. Stop by the roadside at the hollow where the spruce pines are supposed to grow. If you cross sleepy creek you have gone too far.

From Berkeley Springs take Rt. 9 East towards Martinsburg. After crossing sleepy creek the roadside will be on your right.

Park near the pavillion with two legs and a pump. Behind the pavillion you will see a sign for the Spruce Pine Hollow Trail. It is designated by white markers on the trees. You will take a very short walk on this trail. Follow this trail to the creek. Continue on the trail as it turns right and parallels the creek. You will come to a double tree that has a horseshoe shaped base. (If you get to the blue trail you have gone too far.) From the tree base take a compass reading of 110 degrees. Follow this directions for 32 steps (16 paces). You will be at a fallen tree and its' stump. The box will be in the stump.
