Avila Beach is a favorite of my family's. We have enjoyed visiting here throughout the years, and I decided it needed a letterbox! This seemed like the perfect place a pirate would have come, and looked down at the cove below.
Directions: Take Avila Beach Drive off of the 101 Freeway. Near the golf course, there is a street heading up the hill. It's Cave Landing Rd. Turn here, and drive up and park in the parking lot.
Clues: Find the 'Pack it in, Pack it out' sign. Stand in front of it. Turn to your right. Follow the boulders towards the ocean. At the 5th (and last) boulder (about 13 paces), look to your left. Another boulder is hidden under a tree. The box is behind the boulder, under some dead sticks.
Note: I was there in April while it was raining. I couldn't hid the box very well. It's just under sticks, and may become exposed. If you have a better spot, or can conceal it better, I would appreciate it! Email me and let me know if I need to change any clues! Thanks!
