The Cross of our Lord Jesus is located on I-40 at Groom, TX.
Millions of people pass by every year. At least a thousand visitors stop each day. The Cross stands 190 feet tall and can be seen from many miles away. After hard work of more than 100 welders, it was erected in July 1995.
Directions:
Coming from Amarillo, TX go East on I-40.
You will travel about 42 miles before you take Exit 112.
Turn SE or right at the stop sign.
Turn SW or right at the brown Cross sign.
Clues:
Once you pull into the parking lot, start at station 1 and take your time and enjoy all 13 stations and the tomb.
Now, look for the Beatitudes. Once you are facing it, the box will be hidden on your left about 9 feet.
Once found, please re-cover well.
There are postcards provided for you to stamp as well and to write a note to let us know of its condition.
There is no fee to see the Cross. Jesus already paid the price. :-)
