The Old Man is gone, but he did leave his footprint. See if you can find it at the Basin.
From Route 93 South in Franconia Notch, take "The Basin" exit. Park and follow the signs to The Basin. When you get to a sign that says "Please Stay On Trail", go right, and cross the bridge. Just before approaching a second bridge, you should see a trail on your left with a large rock in the middle of the trail. (This trail will lead you to the Basin.)(Approximately) 15 steps down the trail from the rock you should see a birch tree on your right. Directly behind the birch tree will be a large evergreen tree, and behind this tree, beneath a rock, you should find the "Old Man's Footprint LB"
Make sure you check out the Basin, and see if you can find the Old Man's Footprint.
I was recently informed (August 2009) that the Old Man's Footprint was missing. I hope to replace it (in a slightly different location)
