Prior to 6/17/2006, the clues to this box were only available as a bonus within an artfully alliterative letterbox, placed many years ago in Belmont. Sadly, the Beaver Brook box appears to no longer exist and this box got orphaned! I'm hoping that Betsey will replace her great box, but until that time, here is the clue!

SUSSEX letterbox

South-ish of Duck Pond:
Twelve paces into Waltham.
(Check map near parking)

Heavy round object.
Now lays unused, on display.
Stand on this, face pond.

Reach a few feet left:
Metal object points toward pond.
This will guide your way.

Sight along the top
To large rock across the pond:
White-ish, touches water.

Go now to that rock--
Is anyone watching you?
Sit, facing the pond.

Are you still alone?
Look over your left shoulder:
Find small group of stones.

Tilt the white-ish one
To reveal concealed chamber.
Hidden, too, with leaves.

Stamp in stealthily,
Re-hide well (don’t forget leaves)!
See Sussex? Feed him!
