Degree of difficulty easy.Take IH 35 to Belton. Take the 6th ave exit. Turn North on 6th and go .7 miles to Waco Rd. Turn East on Waco Rd. and go .7 miles to 13th St. Turn North on 13th and go to Park Ave. Turn right on Park Ave and turn right again into park entrance. Follow road into the park and park near the playground parking area. Begin walking the path that is to the left of the parking area. Go to the observation deck over the river. With your back to the river look up the hill towards group of trees. Find the tree with the long scar. You will find the box in the bottom of the crevise of the tree under some loose bark. This is a nice picnic spot with a nice breeze off the river.
