This box was initially planted for the 4th Annual Great Lakes Gathering. There are many more Wonderland boxes in the park that you may want to search for.

Go to mahpaL kaeP park, on Hwy C, approximately one mile south of I-94. In 2006, the daily fee to enter the park is $7 for WI residents, $10 for non-residents. Annual stickers for all state park areas are $25 (residents) and $35 (non-residents). Reduced rates are available for people 65 years and older.

Note: This Park has groomed cross country ski trails in the winter and therefore does not permit hiking on the trails when conditions are good for skiing. Plan your visit accordingly.

In order to be on time for the tea party, Alice raced over to the area known as a gathering of trees that never lose their leaves. She was already aware that the journey would be long, so she donned her sturdiest walking shoes and took off toward the Meadows.

“Hmmm,” she wondered, “a sensible person might think to go left, but this is a mad tea party and I shall go right. So away she went, following the trail of darkest color. The path took her through pleasant leas, but presently she had to work harder to continue on her way. Up and up she climbed. “Oh, bother!” she exclaimed to herself, “This is very hard work! This is not suitable for a proper young lady!” Soon she was fortunate enough to be greeted by the March Hare. But he said, “No party without the Mad Hatter!”

“Oh, bother, twice!”, exclaimed Alice. “I shall have to keep hiking up these dreadful hills just to find a companion at the tea party for this odd character

So she continued upward on the trail, trudging along the “Gut Buster”. “What an odd name for a walking path,” she remarked to herself. “I sincerely hope this really does not happen to anyone walking here. It would seem quite unpleasant.”

She passed a bench on her left and then continued 20 more steps to a large tree on the left. From here she headed into the woods on the right side of the path and made her way to the fallen tree at 260 degrees and 35 steps. Within she discerned the Mad Hatter in the base, making final preparations for the party. He said nothing to her and joined the others at the table Alice now espied.

There was a table set out under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: a Dormouse was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using it as a cushion, resting their elbows on it, and talking over its head. ‘Very uncomfortable for the Dormouse,’ thought Alice; ‘only, as it’s asleep, I suppose it doesn’t mind.’ The table was a large one, but the three were all crowded together at one corner of it: ‘No room! No room!’ they cried out when they saw Alice coming. ‘There’s PLENTY of room!’ said Alice indignantly, and she sat down in a large arm-chair at one end of the table.

You may wish to retrace your route back to the lot, or continue along various paths to find some of the other boxes that are hidden in the park.
