We’ve placed this letterbox in honor of Barbara Ziobro, Hall Memorial’s librarian who retired in 2006. Wind in the Willows was her favorite book as a child. More ‘favorite books’ will be placed shortly near other libraries! You should also pick up the directions for "Falcon Letterbox" as they are near each other and can quite easily be done together.
Take Rt. 32 into Willington. Find Hall Memorial School, and park in the back parking lot. behind the playscape, you will find the baseball diamond. From home plate, take a reading of 160 degrees. Take 50 paces until you get to a stone carved with ‘Tom Holinski Field’. Take the stairs down to the soccer field that you will find to the right.
At the bottom of the stairs, take a reading of 310 degrees to the soccer goal at the bottom of the field. You will find a small path just to the right of the goal. Take 6 paces where you will come to a T in the path. Turn right. Walk until you climb over a fallen log and go 7 more paces along the path. Take a reading of 140 degrees to where you can see a wood pecker tree. Take 5 paces toward it when you will come to a deadfall on the ground. In the base of the log, you will find the letterbox hidden.
