On Blue Parkway on Roanoke Mountain in Roanoke Virginia. Mapquest for Mill Mountain Zoo.
Park at pull off before you go up the road to the Roanoke Star and Mill Mountain Zoo. There is a monument there. From sidewalk, go 11 blocks and head right on trail. Pass a tree with a white blaze on right. Pass a big rock in your way. Continue on! Stop at the two elbow trees on left (right beside trail). From 2nd elbow, go 32 steps. Stop at a skinny tree on left. From the skinny tree, walk left up bank for 15 steps to a downed tree on its last limb held together by a vine (not a casket, looks more like a long basket!) There you will find the Shooting Star!
