One of Northeast Ohio's best kept secrets!
Wendy Park at Whiskey Island.
Accessed from Edgewater State Park. Enter the park off RT 2 just off the exit ramp to the right you'll see signs and a road that lead to Whiskey Island Marina. Follow the signs to Whiskey Island Marina you'll wind behind the wastewater treatment plant down a narrow gravel/paved road.

Wendy Park, named for the beloved daughter of Dan and Marge Moore who lost her life in a skiing accident. Dan and Marge owned the land that has now been aquired by the county. The park celebrated it's year anniversary in June 2006 and is beginning to take shape. Restoring the environment, celebrating our community's history, and providing a natural retreat in the heart of Cleveland are the goals for Wendy Park. Visitors will be able to visit a natural shoreline with direct access to the lake, walk on trails and enjoy stunning views of Lake Erie, the Flats, and the downtown skyline (particularly at night).

From the parking lot walk toward the lake pass the playground and admire the lake breeze and docked boats. Walk East where you will see the sign for Wendy Park. Follow the path up a small rise, ahead you will see vollyball courts. Walk pass the volleyball courts and again climb the rise. On top of the hill you will see two "Camel Humps" walk between the humps to the large hill. Sit and admire the view... Browns Stadium, RTA's Waterfront Line, and the railroad lift bridge that allows train traffic to pass over the Cuyahoga River. Cuyahoga is an Indian word for Crooked River.
Look down to the large boulders placed near the river walkway. Notice the one with the fire hydrant in front of it. The furthest boulder south hides the letterbox on its North side. Be careful of the prickly purple flower ouch!
