Lakewood Park
Checked on this one 11/2/2006 could not locate it. 6 noxes have gone missing from this park. This box will not be re-planted.

Located on Lake Ave north of Warren Road/150th Street.

Locate the large white birdhouse mounted on a pole in the grassy field north of the playground. Look due West of the birdhouse beyond the baseball diamond. See the cyclone fence there is an opening in the fence that leads you to the waters edge. Once down the gravel path you’ll find a rather large compass and the beginning of a brick paved path. The path is mostly red brick but every 10 feet or so you’ll see a black band of bricks. Start walking and counting. Count the black bands until you reach “Lakewood, Ohio”. Divide the number of black bands by 4.

Peer through the binoculars you can see downtown Cleveland and maybe if you look close enough Whiskey Island home to the Whiskey Island Letterbox!

Now look down at those pavers again. Directly East in front of the concrete pad that supports the binoculars is a band of those familiar black bricks. Remember your number? Count that number of black bricks East. Now look North from that brick about 12 inches and you’ll find the LB under a stone in a hollow among the boulders. If you sit on the large smooth rock you can discretely locate the box without drawing to much attention. This is a very busy area. You can walk up the ramp to the grassy area where you started. If you come on a Sunday evening in the summer you may catch an outdoor band concert at the bandstand near the main entrance to the park.
