This series is planted in honor of Michele's birthday on July 2nd! Happy Birthday Chele! There is only one log boook at the end.
Rumy also has a series hidden on the second leg of this series. Bring directions for 7 Stamps Tell a Story! Great story it is too! I had planned on staying on one trail, but I miscalculated somewhere so I improvised and you will explore 3 different areas. I was in awe of the Braille Trail! Good stuff. Never thought of a trail with ropes for the blind to follow!
Valley Falls Park in Vernon is the starting place.
You can get there very easily from I-84.
From Westbound take exit 66. At the end of the ramp take a right and go up to the stop sign. Turn right onto Bolton Road. Follow Bolton Road about 1 mile. Turn right onto Bread and Milk Road and follow about ½ mile to the end. Turn left onto Valley Falls Road and follow to Valley Falls Park about ¾ of a mile up on the right.
From Eastbound 84 take the exit 66 and at the end of the ramp turn left and go up to the stop sign and turn right onto Bolton Road and then follow the previous directions once you are on Bolton Road.
Once you are in the parking lot you will see a pond with a sand beach. Head toward the pond and take a left and head past the gazebo onto a gravel path. Right before you come to an open field you will see a large rock on your right. Go behind there and maybe you will get a raspberry from Garfield.
Cross the clearing and go over a bridge. Take a left after the bridge onto a wood chipped path. You will come to a stream. Go to the right on your left you will see a large stump up on a hill. That is where you will find odie. Perhaps his raspberry is meant for Garfield and not for you.
* This stamp is missing. The pond will be to your right as you continue on the path. Ahead of you is a staircase, climb on up. At the top there will be a bench to the left. Look for a large rock behind it. Underneath the right side of the rock you will find Garfield wearing a birthday hat just for Chele's party!
*This letterbox is missing. Continue on the path around the pond and over 2 bridges. Take your first left on to the Braille Trail. Follow the trail as it zig zags like a line at the bank. Take your first right and head toward a stone wall. Look up to the right when you get to the wall, there are a couple of trees, hidden in the wall behind the first tree. Garfield SURPRISE!!!
Continue on the Braille trail to your right you will see a large tree missing some of it's insides. How could I not plant Garfield running with Chele's cake here?
*This box is missing. continue around the Braille Trail, you will pass falls streaming down on your right. About 18 paces past the falls on your right is a tree with a rock that cries for someone to sit on it and look at the stream. The tree to your left is holding Odie who eagerly awaits you to take the slimey newspaper from his mouth.
Continue on the path, which if you haven't noticed by now, is a loop. Follow it back up to the lot. Here is where you want to pull out your clues for 7 stamps. My boxes end at the 3rd box of the 7 stamps series. So you can either carry on or just back track to your car! Your choice!
Take a left and down the enterance ramp into the park. Across the street is the blue trail. First you will pass a map on a tree on your right. Look for 3 trees bunched together with a larger one next to it. There you will find Garfield and odie as friends...though it looks as though garfield had a couple teeth knocked out! OOPS!
Up up up you go!! You will come to a point where 9 stones cross the path. To your right you will see 2 trees twisting together you will find Pookie.
Okay up up up again...you will see a tree on your left very close to the path with a gapping trunk. Garfield and Odie are taking a bath in there!
Head up about 22 paces and you will see a large triangle rock on the right hand side of the path. Just 9 paces in on the right you will see a rock. Garfield and his gang are hiding there. Stamp in here also!
