Go to the Bangor City Forest via the Tripp Drive entrance on Stillwater Avenue. The Bog Boardwalk is a great walk in the BCF, but no dogs are allowed. This is a walk for you and your canine friends to enjoy. Abby and Artemis, Black Lab friends, take this romp on a regular basis. Enjoy!

Check out this web site for trail maps and info about the bog boardwalk!

Start at the information kiosk in the parking lot. Go through the gate, and take a right on Shannon Drive.
Take a pit stop if you need to, then keep on until the dogs get wet in Bog Brook.

When you see the turn off for Deer Trail, take a left trn there.

Continue on Deer Trail until it meets up with Tripp Drive.

At this intersection, there will be a bench to sit and contemplate nature. A sign on a tree indicates that you have gone 6000 feet. Turn right at this junction, and count 76 paces . You will see a tumble down rock wall on your right as you walk. When you reach 76, look
right. Take 12 paces off the trail toward the rock wall, passing a small stump, and heading for a pine tree that grows near the wall.

Look among the rocks of the wall for an exciting doggy surprise! A pointy rock extruding from the wall is the key that will open the wall to you. Good luck!
