This letterbox was created to commemorate my mom's 75th birthday. As a family we would come to Buck Lake almost daily in the summer to enjoy its wonderful sand beaches, crystal clear water, and glimpses of the loon families that live here. Mom would usually swim across the lake and back, and she still does regularly! Truly an inspiration and model for her kids and grandkids.
To find the box, start at the picnic shelter in the upper picnic level.
From the SE corner of the shelter, head due south for 35 steps to the farthest game stake.
From that stake take a bearing of 100° and walk 26 steps to the red, white and cherry island.
On the far side of the island is a large rock. On the back side of the rock (the side towards the interior of the island) is a small pile of rocks. Under them is the box.
Please re-hide well after you stamp in!
