Sally Milligan letter box- box is missing 3/12/12 will try to replace again soon.

DIFFICULTY- moderate
TIME- about an hour for all three
STAMP- hand carved- missing so replaced with Santa stamp:)
WARNING- may be poison ivy and mosquitoes!
LOCATION- Sally Milligan Park on Cross Lane about .03 miles from intersection with Lake Shore Ave. Parking available for 2-3 cars at entrance.

1. Take the path to the far right as you enter the park. You may climb the rock slab if you are adventurous or just take the path to the left of that, they will connect shortly.

2. Amongst the briar bramples, the two paths merge and lead to an opening in the trees. Here the trail divides

3. Keep straight, entering the pine and desiduous forest.

4. Notice the wetland to your right

5. Ignore the trail that passes to your left up the hill

6. Breath in the fresh woodsy air and listen for the birds. you might hear the peepers or smell the skunk cabbage here if it is spring.

7. Pass by the boulder resting on the right of the path no doubt left by a glacier gone by

8. You will pass between two oaks before coming to a path diverting to the left. Don't take the path but do notice the unique tree formation with 3 trunks on the left. (One has since fallen.)

9. You will soon notice a stone wall to your right. Continue to follow the path aside the wall.

10. Bird life abounds here between field and forest. I saw a red tail hawk here once.

11. Yet another path will veer to the right toward a field pass this by and continue to follow the wall

12. The trail will now take a sharp right turn across one stone wall but you will follow another wall. You are getting close.

13. Notice the moss covered ledge to your left and a not so newly downed tree across the trail. Seasonally you may note several species of fern as well as columbine in bloom.

14. Keep an eye open for an unusual young tree to the left with large leaves, i beleive it is a horsechestnut tree. (you have gone too far if you pass the boulder to the left of the trail) When you spot this, look to the right for a bridge-like formation in the stone wall. climb over and search to the right at ground level for the box. it is covered by a white rock under the "bridge" and surrounded with leaves i hope

Please stamp our book and yours before returning the box carefully and descretely to avoid tampering.
