"Finally, my work here in the garden is done. I think I'll take a little sip from the fountain before heading home. It's hard work tending to all these vegetables and flowers. Too bad they all seem to go to waste. I wish those silly humans would harvest them already!" said the Gnome to himself in a gnomish way.

"Sigh, it's such a long, long way home for my little gnomish legs. If I were a human it would be a very short trip! Well, off I go!" cried the Gnome.

"Oh geez, I need to take a little break here by this colossal natural resource powered machine. Silly that it hasn't moved for ages! Let me stop to read about this thing anyway. I pass it every day on the way home and I've never bothered to stop and learn about it. Let's see what it says." said the Gnome quizically.

"Hmmm....that was interesting. They call it 'old' even though it's 7?! Why, I must be ancient to the humans in that case! Well, anyway, "About Face!" I guess I should stop and check on the ol' Himalayan Cedar on the way home." said the Gnome with a tip of his pointy hat.

"Well, she's doing just fine. I suppose I can go on home and put up my little feet for a while. Maybe I'll have some visitors today! If so I hope they bring inks! I just love ink. Especially red like my hat, green like my shirt, brown like my pants and maybe a little black just in case. Of course any ink would be a delight!" said the Gnome excitedly.

"I'm so glad the humans moved this nice log cabin here for me. I feel sorry for Mr. Clements for losing it though. Of course, I don't know how the humans can stand to be cooped up in those houses of theirs all the time. Someone could look for me in a house all day and never find me!" the Gnome exclaimed.

"Ah, here we are, safely home. These back steps of the cabin make a perfect Gnome Home. I think I'll crawl into my little grey bed, under my rock, snugly in the corner, under the lowest step for a little nap until I have a visitor or two...that's where I like it the best." said the Gnome to himself as he drifted off to sleep.
