Go across Washington's shortest state route. Now you're in another state! Go up the steep hill to your right. There's some neat viewpoints if you want to stop. Or if you're behind me in my monster mini-van you'll have plenty of time to look at the view!
Once at the top of the hill turn left. Follow the road past competing cemetaries. Turn left at the 4-way stop. Go up the hill quite a ways till you can turn into the school driveway. Follow the sign for the "pool". Park near the pool. Walk around the building (enjoy the serenity) unless there's a sporting event going on...then you're outta luck!) Walk down to the play area. If you look to your left you'll see a trail going along the tree line. Follow this till you see another trail going off to the right. Go down this trail past some fir trees. There will be a little clearing then back into the fir trees. (If you get to a sign that says "perimeter loop" - you've gone too far!) Look to your left...there's a little trail going up into the fir trees. Head straight back till you see some piled up cedar logs. Under these is Serenity.
I really enjoy this place when it isn't crowded with people. Sunset is just lovely up by the pool building. Actually, anywhere around this little valley is just so peaceful!
