This letterbox has been reported missing.

There is a goose hiding at High Point City Lake Park. The box has found a new home close to it's original location, but a little further out of the eye of the public and out of the poison ivy! You may find directions to the High Point City Lake Park at http://www.high-point.net/pr/citylake.cfm. The address is 602 W. Main St., Jamestown, NC. Once you enter the park go straight until you can bare left and follow the signs towards the park office, boating, fishing, shelters 4 5 6 7 8. Keep to left and follow signs for shelters 4 5 6 7. Go past shelter 4. Go past apartments on left. Follow this road until you get to the stop sign. Take a right towards shelters 5 6 7. Circle into parking lot and park. Walk towards the bathroom shelter. Take the sidewalk that goes down the middle between the shelters and the playground. Continue on the sidewalk until the sidewalk ends. Keep going straight. The sidewalk starts up again and you will walk on it until you get to the water. Look left. You will see a tree that has grown out into the water. The root system is on land but the tree has grown out into the water. Walk left to the tree. If you walk in between the trees and not directly on the water edge, you will pass by three trees on your right. Then you will come to the tree that is growing out in the lake. Look down at the root system stuck out of the ground. In the middle of the roots, there is a hole to the left that is covered with pine needles and leaves. There is a goose hiding in the hole. Make sure that the contents inside the box are placed in the ziploc bag they were in, the outside bag is a bit worn and the box has gotten wet, but the contents inside have been saved by the ziploc bag inside. Place the box back in the outside bag when you are finished. I need to replace that bag but didn't have one when we went out to the site and it may be a while before I can get back out there. Anyway, that bag helps alot as is. Please be sure to place it back in the hole and cover it up very good and be discreet. This is a special letterbox. We introduced letterboxing to a small group that we are part of called Christian Mother's Group. We often meet at parks. Sometimes we meet for classes and have a special program for the children while we are in class--all for free! As a group, we put the box together and the children signed their names to the book. The group is excited about letterboxing and plan to do more letterboxing. The stamp is hand carved. The park has lots of visitors, so please hide the box back in the hole and cover it. While you are there, the geese may surely come up to you wanting food. There are great picnic areas there, so pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is also a larger playground area on the other side of the lake. You would go back out and up the road you came down. After you pass shelter 4, go to the second parking area on the left. There is a carousel and a train to ride. You can get on a boat and go fishing. You can also go swimming at the pool and take a ride on the water slide in the summer.
