This is a water access only letterbox!
What fun and a first of it's type for B.C., I think...

You will need:
a kayak, or other water transportation
purple stamp pad or marker
*(if you contact the placer before you go, you can avoid setting off security alarms, if not there are further directions below)

Starting point,
Deep Cove
http://www.deepcovekayak.com/location/destinations/descrip/boulder.html
this link has an accurate description plus an air photo of the destination.

or Belcarra Park (Takaya rentals)
paddle west of the park about 1km. You can see the dock from the park.
(both places have kayak rentals..or if you want you can contact the placer at least a day in advance and we can arrange a kayak or two(for free)

The letterbox.
Paddle to the dock on Boulder Isalnd. This is a private Island that is visually monitored, we do have permission for the use of this site though. Once you arrive at the dock, tie up on the side away from the open ocean and spot the 'fat around the middle' ha ha... you know how they say one is carrying a spare tire. Hold up the rope and wave it around upon arrival and you can be assured the alarms will not go off, literally. If they do go off, be sure you wave the rope around.
Aha! There is your treasure
Inside the letterbox is a purple 'flag' you may want to wave that too.

Those purple stars really do like to secure themselves to pilons, tires, rocks, whatever is in the water. Though this one is a variety that is able to live out of the water.

Replace logbook, stamp, flag and such with the rope and enjoy your paddle.

Please contact the placer of your find.
There is a special momento for the first finder.
