I created this letterbox for the birthday of 2 brothers that are really special to my family, the boys of surly mama- happy birthday Lucas and Tobin!

Remember that great vintage tootsie pop commercial with Mr. Owl and the little boy who asks how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Well grab a tootsie, research the answer to this question and head out on the trail in search of Mr. Owl.

Clues:

Go to the Rock Hill Park access via Rollins Road past the MU Vet School. Watch the terrain when you start on the trail it is pretty rough. Cross your first bridge and check out the great window tree. Cross the next bridge and notice the beautiful flat rocks in the creek. Soon after you cross the bridge you will find a bench. Here is where you will need the answer to the question "how many licks" do some reverse math and ask yourself " ??? + ??? = (the answer to the lick question) now take these 2 numbers that would add up to the answer and you have another double digit number. Face front from the bench and imagine a clock, take your number and it becomes ?? o'clock, now take that same number and walk that many paces to ??o'clock and you will find a very low stump, look to the backside and let the rocks show you Mr. Owl- please re-place when hiding- and hey guess what, you are on the backside of the MU Raptor Rehabilitation Project and just might get to hear some owls, whooot a hello to Lucifer the adopted owl of my boys. Check out the Project-it really is a wonderful volunteer run organization-
