1/12 discovered boxes flooded replaced 1/7/12 Directions - see Sally Milligan -1

1. Continue along the path and soon you will encounter a large oak that divides the trail stay right/straight.

2. Walk through the sweet pepperbushes and sassafras forest. Very fragrant in August. Walk slowly and notice the special leaves on the sassafras- note 3 different shaped leaves!

3. The white tail deer like this area. Look for their tracks in the earth. continue to follow the path as it weaves right and left.

4. After a bit, ou will pass two three-trunk trees on the left side of this path. Notice how they are almost identical!

5. when this trail ends in a T. Take the trail left to continue.

6. A wide path to your left will become apparent as the you climb the slope. Follow this to the left toward box two.

4. You will notice a stone cliff to the right (just before you get to the stone wall.)

5. Walk up to the rocks and on the far right between some cracks and in front of a tree growing out of the rock is where you will find box #2. It should be covered by some leaves or a branch or two.

Please stamp and return to it's location being sure it isn't too obvious for vandals to find.

Again please return it carefully for the next letterboxing fan.

6. For box three, climb up the rock wall to the right or use the path left of the wall to the follow the rock wall or paht taking a 90-degree turn to your left along the wall to it's end.

7. Then follow the trail up the slope to your left left.

8. Notice the different species of moss here in the summer time. You will walk past the barn on your right.

9. At tree #12 (marked in orange by some frisbee golf fans) take the trail right.

10. When you come to a stump in middle of the trail (about the height of a small adults waist), take the path left down into the fairy forest valley. Take care the briars may be thick here. If this is overgrown, take the next left to arrive at the same location.

11. Head to tree with a boulder next to it. With your back to the trail you cam in on, take 45 paces past an old fire pit toward 2 Pine trees. Turn right and look for a hollow tree stump. It is inside here you will find box #3.

Please replace this box carefully as it is rather precariously placed.

To return, retrace your steps to arrive at the trail with the waist high stump in the middle and walk left,in the direction you were walking when you saw the stump at first. This trail will lead you back to your car passing the fairy forest on your left, and also passing the location of the area where the last letterbox was hidden.
