8/22/08 UPDATE - The stamp was damaged and the log book was missing. I've pulled it and I'm not going to replace it. If I do replant in this park, it'll be a different stamp in a new spot, and therefore a new hide. Thanks to all who visited.
---------------------------------------------------------
I haven’t planted anything in a while, so here goes. This is another early effort at carving, placed in the new southern section of Kiptopeke State Park. Parking fee is $3/car/weekday and #4/car/weekend.
It is a hybrid, with straight forward clues and coordinates. The coordinates for this letterbox are posted on Geocaching.com, while the text clue with bearings is here. It's also listed on Atlasquest for those who like log their finds there. You can use either or both sets of information to log this either or both ways. Happy hiking.
Clue:
From the sign at the northern junction of the Mockingbird and Chickadee trails, go west to the third red metal blaze. From there, go north to a large four trunk tree. From there, go west to a small three trunk tree. From there, go northwest to a small hump on a large log. From there, continue northwest to the right side of the far end of the log.
