***Warning-- As you read down, you will see that the final resting resting spot for this box is behind a wall with graffiti. Some of the graffiti does have some profanity and therefore would not be appropriate for children to see"

Take a stroll on the Leicester common and head over to Becker College to find the "Love is the Air” letter box. This is my first box and it’s dedicated to my love. It is a nice place to walk in the good weather so take your time and enjoy the fresh air. Check for ticks as a part of this walk is in a woodsy area.
Purchased in 1686 by a group of businessmen from Roxbury, Leicester was settled and incorporated in February of 1713. The town was first called Towtaid, which the name was given to this place by the Nipmuc group that had sold the land and later Strawberry Hill since wild strawberries grew in great quantity. The name Leicester was finally settled upon, after Leicester, England where the father of the first Selectman, Thomas Green, had originated from.
Directions:
Take Route 9 to Route 56 north. The junction is in Leicester Center. Just after turning onto 56N (Paxton St) from Leicester Center, take an immediate right onto Washburn Square which is a one way street running around the common. You can park along this road.

Before you start the hunt, look at all the old buildings that line the common. You will be sneaking around them so it helps to know the area. The Leicester Federated Church is on the corner of Route 56 and Washburn Square, the town hall right after it. On the other side of the town hall is the Unitarian Church. Becker College has several buildings in the area. Out on the common, you will see a gazebo. This is your starting point.

From the gazebo, walk straight ahead to the flag pole in the middle of the common. With your back to the gazebo, in front of you will be a pine tree. Just to the left of the pine tree you will see the magic tree (as so my children dubbed it). You will cross paved paths to get to it. Walk to the magic tree and step inside. After you’re done checking it out and making your wishes, walk out of the tree through the other side. To your right, you will see the Federated Church and the Town Hall. Walk through the common and cross Washburn Square to walk in between these two buildings. When you reach the back of the Town Hall, take a right and cross over the parking lot towards the Becker College. You will come to a parking lot fence which you will have to climb over to the Becker College parking lot. Walk to the left past the buildings (which will be on your right). You will see bleachers on the right hand side overlooking the college sports fields. The road will eventually turn to dirt and you will see a stone wall in front of you. Walk around the stone wall to the right. As you walk along, you will see a storage facility on the left side. Walk a few more feet and you will see a path off to the left. Walk down this path about 100 feet and will come to a crossover. (You will see a road off to the right). At the intersection of paths, take a left and walk up about another 100 feet. You will see an old rock wall covered in graffiti to the right. Walk beside the wall to the right until you come to the “I Love Karli” graffiti all the way down at the end. Right behind this part of the wall, you will find the “Love is the Air” letterbox.
