this box has been reported missing

Directions:

This is a drive-by box, part of a series along Highway 26 between Central Oregon and Idaho. All have been placed in easy access for short road-trip stops.

Downtown Mitchell, all two blocks of it, is located just off the highway between Prineville and John Day. When you pull into town you'll see a gas station on the north side of the street with its own personal bear. A Real Live Bear. Just east of that is the town park.

Clues:

The park fronts a small creek. On the far east end of the park are horseshoe pits. Standing just in front of the creekside horsehoe pit, look to your left and you will see a path to the creek. With your toes in the creek look over your left shoulder to the tree clump nearest you. There is a hiddie-hole under the roots nearest the creek. The box is there, under some rocks.
