YOU WANTED THE BEST...YOU GOT THE BEST...THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD...KISS!

For over 30 years, millons of fans worldwide have heard that statement just before the greatest Rock and Roll band...KISS takes the stage. Formed in 1973 in New York, Kiss were one of the biggest bands of the 1970's. With their wild costumes, painted faces and over the top concert performances that featured fire breathing, blood spitting and smoking guitars, Kiss was second to none. But as the 1970's came to an end so did the original line-up. Peter Criss left the band in 1980 followed by guitarist Ace Frehley in 1982. Both members were quickly replaced and the band forged on. By 1983 Kiss removed their trademark makeup painted faces and revealed their identities to the world. They went through several lineup changes but continued to release albums and play to sold out crowds. Then in August of 1995 the band played an acoustic set for Mtv's unplugged show that featured the original lineup on a couple of songs. By 1996 it was decided that KISS reunite put back on the makeup and costumes and do a reunion tour. It turned out to be very successful the response was overwhelming. In 1998 Kiss recorded "Psycho Circus" the first album to feature the original lineup in nearly 20 years. Another successful tour followed. As time went on the demands became too great and Peter and Ace left the band again. Both have been replaced and the band continues to sellout concert halls around the world. CLUES:
From the narrow parking lot head down the only trail and follow it as it bends to the left into the woods. You'll soon come to the tip of the pond and the trail splits stay straight and cross over a 3 log bridge... The blue trail begins. Stay with blue as you immediatly intersect the yellow/blue trail on the right. Cross through a stone wall and the trail will make a "S" and pass by some scattered rocks. Proceed to a twin tree on the right with a blue blazed tree on the opposite side of the trail. While standing just before the twin take a reading of 210 degrees and walk 24 steps to a pile of rocks. Hidden in the center is the "PAUL STANLEY" LB.

Paul "Star Child" Stanley - Vocals and rhythm guitar. The front man of the band. Paul's image with the star painted on his face reflects on him as being the Rock Star.

Back to the trail, continue as it passes a trail joining from the right and gradually begins to ascend, pass by another unmarked trail this time entering from the left.Pass a unique rock on the left with all sorts of nooks and crannys, pass by the white trail. By now you've reached the base of Box Mountain...Start climbing, keeping your eyes peeled for a cluster of 3 good size paper birch trees grouped together. Hidden behind under some rocks is the "ACE FREHLEY" LB.

"Space" Ace Frehley - Lead guitar and vocals. His fondness for space travel and believe in other worlds help create his image. Best known for his smoking and spark shooting guitar solos. Ace designed the KISS logo.

Back to the trail you've got some more climbing to do. When you reach the top you'll come to a "T" intersection turn left here and follow until you see a chest high boulder with a slit in the middle of it, off the left side of the trail. Take 14 steps to it and hidden under it's NW corner is the "GENE SIMMONS" LB

Gene "The Demon" Simmons - Vocals and Bass guitar. His image was created from his love of horror movies. Gene is the most recognizable member of the band. He's marketed the band's image on everything from toys to coffins to condoms. Best known for his fire breathing and blood spitting and of course that tongue.

Return to the "T" and take the blue trail at 180 degrees the trail will eventually level out and you'll pass by 3 unmarked trails on the left. The (blue) trail will now begin to descend and within 5 minutes you'll come to a waist high rock on the left with a tree resting on it and hooked shaped limb resting on top of the fallen tree. Hidden in the root base is the "PETER CRISS" LB

Peter "The Cat" Criss - Drummer and vocals. Peter's image came from his strong affection of the feline family. Best known for playing his powerful drum solos on a drum riser that soared 20 feet above the stage and for singing one of Kiss' most popular songs "Beth"

Continue on.. you'll next notice a stone wall on your left and within 5 minutes come to the intersection of yellow/blue on the right, take it. Follow yellow/blue over a wooden plank, straight through an intersection and over a seasonal stream bed. At the next "T" intersection turn left heading West then hang a quick left at the double blazed tree. Soon a trail from the left joins in... Continue on then notice a yellow trail entering from the left. Keep going until you see a stone wall on the right. Take 10 steps to the tree on the North side of the wall, hidden just past the tree in the wall is the "KISS" LB.

KISS - Even though the band never enjoyed critical acclaim and you rarely hear them on the radio. They remain one of Rock and Roll's most successful bands, selling millons and millons of albums and setting and breaking crowd attendance records. One thing is for certain. KISS just wants to "ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT AND PARTY EVERY DAY"

Return to the trail as it will soon intersect with blue, turn left cross over the 3 log bridge and head back to your car.
