ACCESS BY CAR, MOUNTAIN BIKE, WALKING,, HORSE BACK RIDING, CANOEING, AND OR KAYAKING.

FLY FISHERMAN, MOUTAIN BIKERS, AND HIKERS WILL LOVE THIS AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From Interstate 64, take the Lewsiburg Exit. Turn North on Rt. 219. Check your odometer. Your destination is about 12 miles. Proceed North past the Greenbrier Valley Airport, through Maxwelton, past Granny's Attic. Roll along the green pastures dotted with undreds of grazing cattle. At 8.2 miles you'll see a cemetery as you tope the hill wiht a statue of a soldier. Turn right on to Anthony Creek Road 21. Wind up and down with the beautiful pastures on your left. This is a one lane road with wide berms, typical of better mountain roads in the area. Drive carefully. Proceeed 4 miles to Anthony. Keep going till you reach the river. Park at the Monogalia Boat Launch. Fish or wade a while to relax fromt he drive. The Greenbrier River is rarely over knee deep. A nice place to just hang around a while.

This trail is part of 77 miles from Cass to Lewisburg converted from an old railroad, to a hiking, biking, and horse trail. It hosts a wonderful Mountain Triathlon the last Saturday in April every year known as the Great Greenbrier River Race.

Park and from therego to the paved road and wlak up hill turn Right onto the Greenbrier River Trail. Walk on that trail until you see on your left a building (garage) that has a sign on it that says "String and Bender". From there walk 60 steps (I wear a size 6 shoe). Look to your left at the bent tree. Walk straight down the path, (house on your left). wlak 8 steps and turn right, now walk 7 steps down a short hill. Look for a small stump and next to the stump under the leaves and rock is what you have been seeking. From there look up and diagonal and across from that spot you should dee a double "V" tree on your right. If you do not you are not in the right place.

Hope that you have enjoyed your hike. Now go back the way that you came and enjoy the river.

Please email us at tincher5@earthlink.net when you find this letter box and if you place a hitchhiker in the box please let us know so that we can go see it and stamp our book with the stamp for our collection.
