Moore State Park
Red Sox Dedication Letterbox

Description take from Mass.gov website:
A peaceful 400-acre retreat in the heart of central Massachusetts, Moore was the site of grist and saw mills from 1747 through the early part of this century. It then became a private estate. What remains today is the best of both: stone mill foundations, a restored sawmill, and mountains of glorious rhododendrons, azaleas and mountain laurel. The flowers cascade down hills, line wooded paths and decorate waterfalls.

The power of falling water was early New England's primary energy source. Turkey Hill Brook, dropping 90 feet in less than a quarter mile, was a good mill site, and as many as five separate mills may have been built here. The remnants of the mill-village at Moore give a glimpse of the old rural manufacturing economy which was displaced by the industrial developments of the nineteenth century.

There is also another letterbox placed here, so be sure to find both. The other one, Mom's Memories, was one of the first boxes that we ever found.

From Worcester: Rte 122 west to Paxton Center. From here,
take Rte. 31 south. The main entrance to the park is on the right about a mile or so from Paxton Center. PASS THIS entrance. Follow Rt31 down about a half mile to the next right, Black Hill Rd. This is a one way street. Take this right keep driving until you see a stone bridge. Do not drive over the brige, park your car on the right side just before the bridge.
Before you start up the path, walk over the bridge. You get a beautiful view of the river and waterfall on both sides.
Go back to where your car is parked. You will see a trail that goes up the side towards the waterfall. Walk up this path-- be careful! It's bumpy and rock and there is a steep drop on the left in certain spots. The river will be on the left (at the bottom) Follow this path until you are inspired. Once you reach the area of inspiration, you will see a rock wall. Facing the wall on the far right side, you will find our box, buried in the wall right near the tree. Be sure to place it back and arrange the rocks so it is well hidden.
Be sure to continue your stroll through this well kept secret. One of it's previous owners named it Enchanta and I am sure you will agree.
