I have alway wanted a pet alligator. I mean if you visit Tropical World in Missoula (on third street)you can see how nice the one they have there is and how well he gets along with the turtles. However, after recent events in Kallispell(http://www.dailyinterlake.com/articles/2006/08/01/news/news01.txt)
I also know that a pet alligator is a huge responsibility. I also have found out that this has been a learning lesson all around(http://www.missoulian.com/articles/2006/08/09/news/mtregional/news06.txt).

The fish and game also had this to say:
Alligators released into the wild are not protected in Montana. The species is listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the southeast U. S. because of the similarity of appearance to crocodiles. Outside of the southeast U. S. they are not protected under the ESA.

Region One FWP Supervisor Jim Satterfield noted that, even though exotic wildlife like alligators are not protected, people should use common sense on how they handle the situation if the animal is encountered. “Report the situation immediately,” he said. “And think of the consequences of your actions towards the animal before doing anything.”

So hoping not to cause any controversy. I have thought of my actions and carved my own pet. Who will hopefully be protected by those that love letterboxing. This way I can have my pet and commemorate an 11 year olds birthday that was quite eventful.
My pet is located near a place where you can find key lime and the environment is nice and swampy. When you get to the first light in Florence turn off of Highway 93 onto East side Highway until you come to the Florence Bridge fishing access. At the first dirt turn out park and walk down the bike path 253 paces to the second bench. Here you will find a nice swampy place that my pet will enjoy. From the bench walk 15 paces in the direction of 11 o'clock. Look under the old road and you will find my alligator farm, careful we don't want to agitate my pet he found a glove when we were placing him and he likes to keep it as a comforter. Thanks.
